2023 is in full swing, and Savoy Dubai hotel apartments are the perfect base camp from which to explore all the exciting attractions in the cosmopolitan city! Our hotel apartments in Dubai are conveniently located and fully equipped to make your short stay as comfortable and memorable as possible.

Here’s your 2023 guide to enjoying an unforgettable trip while flying solo or when travelling with your loved ones!

Getting acquainted with Dubai

Dubai is a melting pot of culture, fun and adventure, so being ideally located when booking accommodation is key to making sure you get to visit various attractions without any hassle. Savoy Dubai hotel apartments are located in the charming Bur Dubai district, giving you complete access to both old and new Dubai. Old Dubai is where you’ll get to enjoy the more traditional side of the city, whilst New Dubai ticks all your boxes for entertainment, glitz and glamour.

Whether you’re travelling on a budget or have saved up to splurge, we recommend staying for at least three days to fully immerse yourself in all the city’s wonders. Saving on your accommodation is the smart way to enjoy Dubai, giving you the freedom to dedicate the majority of your spend towards entertainment in the city.

Visit the Dubai Museum and the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood

Right on the doorstep of Savoy hotel apartments in Dubai is the iconic Dubai Museum and the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, also known as Al Bastakiya Quarter. Simply hop onto a metro within walking distance of our aparthotels and head to the oldest building that was once a fort and has since been converted into the renowned Dubai Museum. Here, you can learn everything there is to know about the history of the Emirates and what life was like before the city as you know it today.

Next, wander the winding streets of Al Fahidi/Al Bastakiya Quarter, where art, culture and mouth-watering traditional international cuisine await. Make a pit stop at the Arabian Teahouse, a must-visit location for traditional Arabic coffee, tea blends, and Emirati sweets and pastries.

Next up, souks

Trek to Dubai’s variety of marketplaces, otherwise known as souks. Here you’ll get to browse and purchase various perfumes, spices, gold and textiles. Dubai has many souks to enjoy, including the Gold Souk, Perfume Souk, Spice Souk and Textile Souk to get started!

Cruise along the Dubai Creek

Also very close to Savoy Dubai hotel apartments is the historic saltwater creek known as the Dubai Creek. Once a major hub for pearl divers and merchants transporting coffees, luxurious textiles, spices and other trade goods, you can hop into a traditional motorised water boat called an abra. Pay just AED 1 to cross the creek, or you can enjoy a leisurely cruise and marvel at the exceptionally contrasted Old Dubai on one side and New Dubai on the other. See if you can spot the towering Burj Khalifa while snapping some selfies for your Instagram feed!

Take it from the top with the mighty Burj

Coming in at 828 metres tall, the world record-breaking Burj Khalifa is a sight for sore eyes and a must-do bucket list activity. Head to one of the observation decks for a bird’s eye view of the city as it glistens down below.

Marvel at the Dubai Fountain

Just a stone’s throw away from the Burj Khalifa is the Dubai Fountain. Once a world record breaker before the Palm Fountain in Dubai claimed the title, this fountain draws in hundreds of spectators to witness its choreographed LED water jets put on a performance to a variety of international musical hits. Visit during the evenings to indulge in this complimentary activity! While here, be sure to visit the Dubai Mall, one of the largest malls in the world, and window shop or purchase various trinkets and fashionable items.

Laze around on Dubai’s beaches

Being in the desertscape means soaking up the sun and cooling down on the many beaches peppered throughout Dubai – just be sure to take along your sunscreen and water! We recommend starting with a visit to Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) Beach, one of Dubai’s most popular beaches. Entrance is free, but you’ll have to pay to rent a sunbed and any potential water sports activities you may feel like doing. After this, end the day with a leisurely stroll along The Walk at JBR, a promenade strip where you’ll get to explore the vibrant city, dine at the many restaurants and shop until you drop.
